About their event
Black Doulas of Columbia Collective
a non-profit organization here to nurture birthing families and center birth workers.
These doulas play a vital role in supporting Black families by providing free services to those who qualify, advocating, educating, and offering essential resources throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. With a strong focus on cultural competence, they offer continuous care while actively participating in community events to share knowledge and resources. Additionally, doulas strengthen the birth worker community by fostering spaces for connection, collaboration, and professional growth. They educate the public and medical providers on the significance of birth work, organize events and training opportunities, and advocate for sustainable funding to ensure the longevity of the profession. Through mentorship and targeted support, they empower birth workers to create lasting, meaningful change within their communities.
